Our Team Of Specialists
Johan A. Smit - MSAII : eGPM-WEF [Senior Associate - *Agriculture Innovations Inc. USA]
QSG-Consult International - Johan passionately dedicated 40-years of his career prior, to turn-key agricultural and landscape project development and management nationally (RSA), and internationally. He was responsible for establishing Large scale Irrigation Infrastructure Projects for agriculture on the continent of Africa and beyond, as well as performing Landscape development in the Middle East and surrounding countries such as Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Pakistan and India. These projects included Softscapes, Hardscapes, Roadscapes and of course, fully Automated Irrigation Systems. In India, Johan was appointed as Design Consultant by the Reliance Group for the development of large scale dynamic interactive fountains at their Corporate Head Office in Mumbai. Further milestones included involvement in a large scale development of the irrigation infrastructure for a 3,000 hectares Bio-fuel project on location in Madagascar [2008], and R&D of an Interim Feasibility Study for developing the irrigation infrastructure of 6,500 hectares Sugar Cane plantation for emerging farmers, South Africa [2000].
As Chief Design Engineer, he was accountable for managing a team of Irrigation Engineers responsible for performing full scale field assessments to determine viability of project development, including modelling/planning of land areas for small and large scale irrigation infrastructure project development. This role evolved to that of General Manager for companies in the Middle East, being responsible for the entire admin/operational functions and P/L Accounts.
The demand for his professional services progressed to include R&D assignments for the development of commercial agricultural enterprises, including writing of Feasibility Studies/Business Plans for Agri-Tourism enterprises, Hi-Tech farming enterprises to include Greenhouse development combined with Solar-Energy systems. Also, setting-up large scale agricultural irrigation infrastructure projects from inception to completion for both Government and Commercial Farmers. Some of the most rewarding projects that Johan was involved in, was the development of a project specific, Gravity Drip Irrigation concept, for typical socio-economic upliftment type projects for the poverty stricken in rural areas in Namibia, mainly for self-sustenance. These projects were performed by assignment and on behalf of the FAO of the United Nations - [Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Namibian Office, Windhoek].
*Agriculture Innovations Inc. USA
On account of Johan's involvement with the development of rural Agri-project development and excellent achievements in this field of much needed socio-economic upliftment, he was invited to join Agriculture Innovations Inc. USA, as a Senior Associate which he accepted with gratitude and appreciation for the acknowledgement of his achievements.
Johan's vision for QSG-Consult International is the result of a deeply rooted desire to continue to be actively involved in quality-smart agricultural practices and development in Africa and beyond, and as such making a difference in a "Quality-Smart" manner by inviting like-minded professionals, specialists in their field, to come alongside him in order to take forward a collective goal and dream!
WASTE-TO-ENERGY / LIQUID FUELS PROCESSING PLANT
NEW AND MOST EXCITING DEVELOPMENT - SINCE 2013!
Since July 2013 Johan A. Smit was directing and developing a complete new portfolio within our scope of engineering project development activities, i.e WASTE-To-ENERGY/LIQUID FUELS and we have teamed-up with PTE, SOUTH AFRICA, in order to realize our goals with regards to contributing positively and actively to enhancing our Environment within Africa and the Islands, and even beyond!
Since March 2014 we have developed and compiled a comprehensive Feasibility Study, Business Plan as well as comprehensive Design-and-Built Procedures for the implementation of a MSW Processing Plant (Municipal Solid Waste) for the purposes of processing 150,000 - Metric Tonnes of MSW with the primary product of the process being Refined Diesel Fuel. Given the technological design of this type of Processing Plant, the exact same Plant could be geared to supply Electrical Power instead, or both - the entire concept is modular by design and by conversion and additions the entire Processing Plant could be adapted to serve diverse requirements with regard to the end Product/s.
Apart from its obvious commercially viable benefits, the "greatest winner" is the environment itself since the process is 100% environmentally safe and over time would greatly contribute to enhancing the environment and improving the standard of living of ALL inhabitants, and of course most importantly, Nature, by virtue of 100% quality-smart environmental technology.
*Any enquiries may be directed to Johan Smit as per our contact details provided at the bottom of this page.
Hereinafter follows a brief Power Point Presentation of the Technology (Pyrolysis Process) we offer for processing MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) - Please kindly exercise some patience since the download for viewing may take up to 1-minute depending on your Internet connection and speed of your Computer.

Andre' Smith - BSc.Agric (Horticulture) UP : Pri Sci Nat (400029/2001)
Andre' is a product of Nylstroom High where he matriculated in 1980. Following on, he completed his military training and afterwards obtained his BSc.Agric [Horticulture] from the University of Pretoria in 1988. Immediately afterwards he started out his professional career as a Production Manager at Bosveld Citrus [TMT Thalwitzer]. Soon afterwards he joined Omnia Fertilizers as an Agricultural Consultant. The "natural farmer" in his make-up motivated him to join Zambezi Ranching and Cropping in Zambia as Farm Manager, where he acquired invaluable experience in very much a "hands-on" day-to-day practical farming situation. Although Andre' is currently still farming, he also holds the position of Area Manager East [Tzaneen] for the ATLAS Half-Organic Fertilizers Group. Andre' acquired vast experience having been involved in many a farming operation as an agricultural/horticultural expert having specialized in the commercial scale production of Citrus, Sub-tropical Tree Crops, Potatoes, and most, if not all, vegetable crops under production. He was also actively involved as Consultant and advised on the best practice production methodologies of, and making recommendations for the production of Grain Crops.
Andre' has already contributed to the agricultural consulting activities of QSG-Consult International having provided half-organic fertilizer recommendations for one of our current projects in Namibia. We are excited about him joining us as a Professional Associate and we are looking to 'cementing' a long-lasting professional relationship with him.
